In all the striving that this time of year brings - to be better, to be thinner, to get fit, to eat more healthily, to keep a more organized house - one important kernel of truth always seems to get missed.
Perhaps the easiest way to be happy is to find a way to appreciate the present, as it stands.
Seems I have aquired the habit of a photo a day, but I have found a new way of framing them. And a flickr group #from where i stand to play along with.
Anyone else joining in?
Well, I do have new socks to show off, so may be...
You are absolutely right about appreciating the here and now.

And when you make your pummelvision thingie at the end of the year your feet will do a little dance as the images slip by.

Only in spirit I'm afraid.
But if Apple are nice enough to release an IPod Touch with a half-decent camera soon I'll join in next year...

Love the Flickr site. Can't wait to add some pics of my feet! I'd better give them a pedicure first I think. Yours look very dainty!

What a wonderful idea.
I'm not a participant, but I do love the idea.

Those were wise words, and today was a day I definitely needed to hear them. I like to plan, and so find it hard to live only in the here-and-now. Solution? Plan to appreciate the moments when they come.
My toes are not worthy of the Flickr site alas. Nor my socks, nor shoes (my Imelda Marcos days are behind me). I shall have to view vicariously.

Excellent attitude, Ali, to appreciate the present. I read The Power of Now (and am about to re-read, because it's dense, at least for me) a few months ago and find it helpful to focus on finding happiness in today.
