School finishes next week - we've been preparing. Lines to learn for Christmas performances, cards to write for classmates and treats to bake for staff. My boys go to a small local primary school, but between them there are 12 teachers or teaching assistants to make for. I predict a weekend of baking (in my very clean oven!).
But to go with the sweet treats, there are a couple of candles, designed with love.
Thanks to Lina's tutorial. Talk about maximum impact for minimum effort. That's exactly the kind of Christmas crafting I like best.
Those are delightful! Some of G's and my favorite Christmas decorations are things that the children he teaches have given him over the last couple of years. First thing that we put out is a candle very like yours with "snowmen" drawn all the round it. A child gave it to him in his very first teaching practice and neither of us have been able to bring ourselves to light it!

Great job on these, a perfect gift for so many teachers. I did wake my husband last night at 2am to ask him if we needed to get gifts for the music and gym teacher, and what about the lunch monitors and the secretary...needless to say I worry about these matters on my own!

Oh Ali thank you - what a great tutorial you linked to - I am going to do these with my kids next week but it occurs to me that with the right stamps they are great presents anytime...

They look fab! Think even my crafting abilities can stretch to that. Enjoy the last week of school and (hopefully) the quiet domestic bliss of some baking this weekend.

oh sweet!
Thank god we did an all-parents collection this year for all the teachers... I found the whole thing very stressfull.
Why? don't know.
Love those candles though... No 2 would have loved doing it... but I would have to sit on No 1 to make him do it.
Not worth it.
Happy baking!

Mums never make presents for teachers in further education. Sigh.
You're a star. The teachers will be very touched.

They turned out just perfect.
And now I have just realised that I have only a week left before the end of term. I probably should bump the teachers' gifts up the to-do list, huh?

These are wonderful - I saw some in the flash (or should that be wax) at Val's last week - so simple! Tricky to write on tracing paper when you have little hands though xx
