Love these Ali. I haven't knit socks yet, but have been wanting to give it a try. Do you have any suggestions for a good place to start?

dottycookie

Looks a lot like the scene here tonight - my socks are yellow though.

lina

Ah, sock knitting by the fire, looks so cosy. Not sure if I'm up to socks yet, but am sorely tempted by that orange wool! We lit our first fire tonight too.

kirsten

wow, a blank square! that is bliss.

Louise

The girls and I did a bit of knitting while away last week and I thought of you. What a blissful scene that photo is and I just LOVE the orange sock wool. I wish I wore socks - it might have inspired me to knit a pair!!

bigbucketgirl

a blank square! *sigh*, sounds lovely. i have a 'blue bottomed fly' square.

Diana

Love that colourful sock wool...perfect for halloween!

Gemma

Gorgeous colour! There is something about Autumn that screams sock knitting I always think.

Gina

What's a blank square? I have a distant memory of one...

Love-ly sock too!

We all want to know what you do with your blank square! Hope whatever it is/was, you thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fab socks. x

Bliss indeed!

mmm, we lit our first fire tonight too, I have been sat cosy with a book, knowing I would never knit the second sock, were I ever to embark on such a project. yours already look cosy though, and a lovely colour.

Jade

It all just looks so lovely. It will still be sometime here before we can start a fire. But I will dream that I live in the mountains and just pretend. Until I step outside that is! ;)

Thimbleanna

Ooooh, that yarn is beautiful!!!!

kristina

What a gorgeous color! Perfect for this time of year. And how I wish we had a fireplace. It all looks so cosy! K x

erin

i love days like that. enjoy!

monica

my socks are green and purple... and they are a commission. I like them so much I know I'll feel bereft when I have to let them go... sigh.

Isn't autumn come around obscenely fast?

bigbucketgirl

Taking 2 minutes peace to rest my blue bum I just read your comment on magpiefiles and laughed so hard! You are a funny lady...x

We've had 100 degree plus weather here. I want to be knitting in front of a cosy fire - instead I have the air conditioning on. And my mum wonders why we still haven't put the fake logs on our fire...
