You should have seen the size of the one that got away. Really. It was huge.
The water was absolutely freezing. But somehow, the boys didn't seem to care.
Why would you when there are rope swings to play on? Thank goodness the stream is only a 10 minute walk away from our house and a hot bath.
I earned my 'Good Mother' badge today. And it arrived in the post, from Gina.
Okay, so she didn't exactly award it to me with that in mind. But hey, as a parent, sometimes you just need to give yourself a pat on the back. Did I mention how cold the water was?
Awwww, fab, good for you. We had a long picnic and swim in the outdoor school pool - one of the perks of looking after the blasted thing is that we get to swim for free all summer. More of the same tomorrow we hope!

ooh that looks fun! and your badge is beautiful and well deserved!

That's the sort of day they will remember when they are grown, adventuring in the summer.

The stream is so clear. I remember 'river jumping' in the park when I was small. I would love to be able to do it again but I don't think my old bones would make it. The 'Good Mother' badge is fine indeed. I may make myself one!

I am sure kids don't feel the cold. I am sure!

Looks like they are having a great time there. Love the brooch.

Who feels the cold when you are having that much fun? Fishing nets and rope swings sound like childhood bliss - straight out of an Enid Blyton adventure!

The boys look like they're having a grand time. I love the "badge" and, yes, I do think you deserve to think of it as such.

And did YOU have a swing on the rope? :-D x

I heartily agree with you about the good mother badge and I'm definitely going to make myself one for those bad parenting days where I need some cheering up!

Great fun! My beasties were nice and blue after a good dunking in the paddling pool today :)
Your good Mum badge should be worn with pride. Fingers crossed for more sunny days!

I love the "Good Mother" badge idea! When freezing water and boys are involved and you endured it. Yes, you deserve it!!!
Sorry about my email problem, we have it fixed but it did come with a price. A new email address and the loss of everything.
Stay Warm. :)
