Germ alert - am I the only one whose offspring always seem to celebrate the beginning of their Christmas holidays with a stinking cold? They are back on fighting form, but have passed their lurgy on to us, and I for one am feeling rather sorry for myself and not remotely festive. In fact, I am ashamed to say that we reached the 15th of December without putting up a single decoration. That's unheared of round these parts. So in spite of feeling grotty, I forced myself to put up our plastic fantastic version yesterday.
Perhaps the twinkly lights will work their magic and I'll wake up tomorrow full of verve. Then we can go and buy the real tree. Though the plans for that could be scuppered by hubby not returning - he's stuck on an iced up plane somewhere in Northern Europe. One de-icing truck has broken down, the second has run out of de-icer and the third is valiantly attempting to keep the whole airport open. It may be a long night....
I saved him a jelly though - good for sore throats. The squirty cream is just good for morale.

Your jelly looks jewel-like Ali. Get well soon.

sorry, Ali! I had my cold for December already, so I'm crossing my fingers about that. hope hubby gets home safe (and soon!) and the Christmas cheer will soon be there. Put on some holiday tunes!

Gorgeous jelly!
Hope you feel better soon. I always get very run-down around Christmas and more likely to pick up lurgies - children share them so generously, don't they?

That jelly is like stained glass!
Hope you feel better soon x

Hope a nice warm breeze blows over the airport to deice everything. The lurgy has been hanging round here for weeks, it certainly saps the festive spirit. Hope you feel better soon.xx

Hope hubby gets home safe and sound and that you and your family are back to full health in no time...
We've all had at least 2 colds since September and I'm hoping the week off before Christmas will be a kinda quarantine so we are all fine for Christmas! :o)

I think more jellies are needed (accompanied by a hot toddy for you!)

I completely know how you feel - my throat is so sore, I can barely talk and I feel so rough........festive, bah humbug!
I hope you feel better soon. I think maybe a party for just those that have the lurgy to get tiddled on brandy and dance around in a fever, at least that way we're keeping it contained. No healthy people aloud.
take care,
Nina xxx

Don't feel bad OR alone. Got a scratchy throat and bugging cough here.
And no decorations whatsoever here neither.
So, cheer up. We'll get through it all.
At least you have that marvellous jelly.

I do hope you're on the mend. We got our germs all out of the way (I hope) at the beginning of the month.
Having said that, I still haven't got my tree up!

Our daughter was the Queen of vacation/holiday colds and a dry hacking cough all winter long. This year, we've taken her to the allergist. She's mildly allergic to everything environmental and slightly asmatic, but with a regular medicine and inhaler we've had our first no cold, flu or general yuk season. Something to consider, perhaps?

Poor you! I hope you're better soon. We're onto the damson gin here. Very good for colds.

Squirty cream is one of the essential food groups in my book.
Feel better soon. I am usually the world's biggest Christmas enthusiast but this week has been just vile.

Squirty cream, I believe, is a cure-all. Hope all has improved.

Oh I hope he made it home this weekend. And I'm sure enough twinkly lights and wobbly jellies can cure anything :)

Arggh, we are the same, our kids are so often staggering over the finishing line at the end of term - two are poorly at the moment. I blogged tonight about a mega smoothie to banish the lurgies! Bx
