Another load of washing needed to go on the line, so I headed into the garden. And that's when it happened. The bench, it called my name. And in a sweet siren song it summoned me "Come, sit a while, it's been too long". And it had, so I sat and then I lay down and then I brought my new book to look at.
Yes, you can now get it in the UK. And you really should. It's worth it for the photo styling alone, let alone the full sized pattern pieces and instructions for 26 projects. And half an hour on the bench passed, and then a little more. But it was time very well spent. Pip says in her introduction 'Making is one of life's great joys' and I couldn't agree more, but some days just sitting is good enough.

Bench too rain sodden over here for sitting, let alone lying!

Looks as though you had a nice little break, it's always fun to sit down with a new book, especially a crafty one.

I could do with half an hour curled up on a bench reading a book. Hmm, maybe I can fit it in Weds. How is it that I'm busier now that the kids are back to school / preschool?

I've been reading your blog for a while, but had to come out of lurking when I saw this photo. I LIVE on my bench swing when the weather here in south Florida is more favorable and have many photos just like this one: http://pollywogcreek.blogspot.com/2008/01/swing.html
Blessings,

After a day of running around sorting out the MOTs for both cars, repairs, ironing, school run etc, this was like a breath of fresh air. Once I've got tea on the go, I am going to sit down. I really am.

Eeek. I think my comment just disappeared. What I was trying to say was thank you for the heads up! I remember seeing this book ages ago online before it was available in the UK and thinking how lovely... K x

Now, that is quality time well spent. You have a very wise bench in your garden.

The sofa and I are on first name terms - but the bench in the garden is too close to work That Needs To Be Done (e.g. weeding) so our relationship is a bit more strained.

I'm so glad I don't have a comfortable bench in my garden...
(and I still have to plan the bulbs we bought the other day! so the guilt would have been too much.)
Isn't that book great? Perfect ideas for presents... me thinks.

What a nice thing to do - sometimes we forget how good it is to sit down and have a ponder.

Bench sitting and book reading seem like 2 very worth while activites to me.
