Regression

New_shoes_april_25
The last time I owned a pair of Converse I was fifteen. They were red. It was a very good time. Who doesn't occasionally fall in love with red footwear?  Right Julie? Right Beki? Right Zoe?

But lust is another matter entirely. There should be a specific term for shoe lust. Because when I first saw this Camilla Engman version, that's what I had. Sadly, it seemed unless I was prepared to have them shipped trans-Atlantic, they were not to be. And then, on Tuesday,  they appeared. Issuing their siren song from the window of Schuh. Did you notice that little UK purchase friendly link? I'm nice sometimes.

Want another one? Try this. It shouldn't really surprise me that there is an entire site devoted to teaching you alternative methods to lace your shoes. But somehow it does.  'Scuse me, off to test out some variations for optimum comfort.

Nice! You call that nice!?!? I am now in negotiations with G about purchasing them! I reckon they equal one football match!

I have never owned a pair of converse but I really really want some now! These are lovely! Lucky you with your cute new shoes :D

Oh good Lord, who knew there were *that* many ways to lace up shoes?! And here I was going through life only doing it one or two ways! Well, time to change my tune. I'm going to go practice on Rebecca's shoes, now...

oh no, I've just blown my spring shoe budget - don't suppose you want to swap?! Those are wonderful!

I've been hoping beyond hope that those ones would make it to Australia. Alas, it seems not to be! At least someone I know has a pair...

(it's ALMOST a comfort)

Good taste, as always, Ali!

I have just sent MissM that shoelace link - she will LOVE it! She can impress all her friends with her uber-cool lacing technique.

Ooh thank you thank you.

I was wondering if I was going to have to get a these sent to a friend in the US and then have her send them to me.

But no. yaay for Schuh. (at one time the only place I would buy shoes was Schuh, that was in the DM wearing phase, hey it was fashion!)

Sadly none on the Newcastle stores have these in stock - but I can have them delivered. Thank you again.

That Schuh site has some wonderful shoes with reasonable prices. I have never seen so many unusual shoes. Thanks for the link!

Too cute for words! I often wonder if I'm too old for Converse now; I love my lime green ones...

you lucky girl.

Oh, you are my hero! I too had been sitting working out postage costs ("HOW much?!"), but I just might have to take a wander to Schuh this weekend...

Love the new kicks, Ali!

OMG i have wanted these shoes for so long!!! However, like you was not wishing to ship them overseas. Well i may just have to take a trip to Schuh NOW. Thanks for the tip!!

Have you seen the offside rule explanation for women:

You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you must have.

The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them with desire. Both of you have forgotten your purses.

It would be rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes.

The shop assistant remains at the till waiting.

Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma.

She prepares to throw her purse to you.

If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes!

At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and "whilst it is in flight" you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes!

BUT, you must always remember that until the purse has "actually been thrown", it would be plain wrong for you to be in front of the other shopper and you would be OFFSIDE.

you evil temptress you.

How could I justify them? HOW????

Those are the cutest shoes I've seen for ages!!! I love the colour - so summery!

I may now have to go and investigate Schuh in readiness for payday :)

xxx

Hey, last night I dug out mine (red). They never really fit and I never really wore them. So yesterday I decided to either wear them or leave them. Still have to get used to the walking ... but I love the red. (Bought them in 1996 ..)

I've been coveting those converse for a while now...you'll be thinking I'm one of those weird copy cat people if I buy them after the boots ;) I'm not, honest x But I am a sucker for red shoes. I used to sneak a pair of red pin heel shoes to school in my bag and change once I was there...that's devotion to red shoes for ya!

Could I add these to my collection,I think so -I live in my Converse - age doesn't matter for those of you who are wondering lol. I even have little Converse for my little ones and all the boxes that they came in too.
Lisa x

Oh bugger I see a fellow Aussie has had trouble ordering them - I'll have a look for them myself anyway.....

oh you evil evil woman...

My girls both have Converse and I have to admit to not being that fussed by them, but seeing yours I must reconsider. They do look sweet.

yup off to that site now. Well dont ali those are amazing

Ian - of Ian's shoelacing fame - would be a fascinating guest at a dinner party!

damn and blast- the last of my will power has vanished now I don't have to pay millions of pounds in shipping!

I've never wanted a pair of converse shoes until now! They are fabulous!

Super cute Ali! Enjoy!

dude. i totally NEED those.

MUST. HAVE. THEM. NOW...They are SO CUTE. I have been contemplating some converses for a little while now, and then has just TOTALLY tipped the balance in converses favour!
Thanks for sharing
Clare x

You lucky woman - they are awfully cute...

They are so cute. Andy is off to the US in June and I had a pair of Converses on his shopping list - they may just have to be those ones. The colour is fab, and I love the pictures. Red and blue go with anything!
Cathy X

I am not normally a shoe person, but for those, I could make an exception. Oh yes indeedy.

You lucky girl! Now I want a pair!!

OMG, I am so in LOVE with your shoes. Total shoe envy. Love. Love. Love.

I just this very weekend bought myself a pair of Converse (what are they pumps, trainers, shoes - I'm so out of touch!). Mine are plain blue and I'm feeling the teensiest bit jealous of those beauties!
Julia x

I had 2 pairs of converse when I was 15, a red pair and an apple green pair. No where as wonderful as the ones in your picture. Love Julia (weirdbunny) x

ha ha! I bought myself a pair of Converse on Sunday morning - what is it they say about great minds?! However, mine are not nearly as gorgeous as yours

i fell in love with those shoes the minute i saw them and have gotten SO many compliments on them. i'm sure you'll enjoy them as much as i do!

Ack! Those are too, too cute!

Oh Ali!

You are a top genius. I am so buying those after I have hit 'post on this comment...

Oh god, I neeeeed to have those!

I love mine too,so much so that I don't want to wear them! They also have a lot of meaning to me because we are adopting a little girl we have name Ruby, and we think of her as Little Red.
For others commenting and searching for them-They also have all sizes available on the Delias website

Oh! Those are so cute! Man, the only pair of converses I ever had were green and orange and waaaaaay too big! :-P
